Ruben helped me with my university course, especially glaciology where I struggled to understand how to work out ablation and balance chemical mass losses and gains. This really helped me complete my course work and understanding of the topic as a whole.

As a maths student at the same university as Ruben P who was studying engineering, we would often study together in the library. After seeing Ruben's competency in some of the topics that I needed help in, I asked for his help during some of these study sessions. Not only did he give up his own study time to help me out, but he was incredibly attentive while doing so.

My main issue with studying maths was that I wasn't able to picture the problem in "real-life" terms - Ruben has an excellent eye for this, and helped me on countless occasions to see into the problem for what it was, so that I could understand where to go with it after. Instead of giving me the answer, he taught me how to get to the answer, which gave me a huge advantage whenever it came to my assessed works & exams.

Along with his incredibly vast amounts of knowledge. Ruben P also always had time for questions; I used to annoy my high school maths teachers by asking too many "why" questions, or being too inquisitive about the boundaries of different mathematical rules/laws. Instead of shutting these down, Ruben P gave as much time as possible to help provide an incredibly well-rounded knowledge of the topic, which always left me feeling a lot more confident in my abilities.
