About Rachael
I've tutored peers and younger students since high school through undergrad and graduate school. I love teaching others and I've always been fascinated with learning and how people learn.
While I've read a lot of books about learning and teaching, I think the things that make a great teacher are patience, communication, and creative persistence. I can come up with several different approaches to learning, and will try as many as it takes to make progress.
For me, it always boils down to trying to break apart the concept into its most basic and rudimentary blocks of understanding, and then building the tools to use that information to apply that concept. This is what I would describe as truly learning something and is always my goal.

I am an experienced tutor and teaching assistant who loves to help others learn. I've become very good at breaking down core concepts and explaining things in different ways until the knowledge is truly grasped and therefore usable (this is how I teach everything to myself).
I'll teach anyone who really wants to learn, but am probably best at middle school through undergraduate subjects in mathematics (algebra through calculus) and physics (general, statics, dynamics, thermo, fluids).
I have my BS in Mechanical Engineering, and my MS in Mechatronics. I'm also good at writing, specifically essays, research papers, and scientific writing, and would be happy to help with these as well.
