About Dahlia
I worked as a maths tutor for high school students in London whilst studying for my Mathematics degree. I then worked as a graduate teaching assistant for various mathematics, statistics and engineering classes whilst studying for my Masters at Stanford. I have maintained professional yet friendly relationships with my students, and I always try and be approachable so that students feel comfortable learning.

I have worked as a tutor for high school students and undergraduates and adults at various levels. From my experience, everybody learns differently, so I always try and tailor my lessons to suit the individual needs of my students. I'm also very patient, and am more than happy to re-explain concepts as many times as needed.
Mathematics can sometimes be overwhelming, but I find it so rewarding when my students learn and understand concepts that they didn't think they could. I like to motivate my students and always emphasise that everybody is capable of learning!
A typical lesson will consist of going through the previous assignment and any questions that the student has, then spending the majority of the lesson covering new topics (this is something I can decide based on the curriculum, or something that the student wants to cover). With maths, the best way to learn is practice, so I like to prepare a set of questions to work through together. I will then set homework questions that relates to the covered topic.
