About Leah
I've taught art and photography professionally at the college level for 7 years
I've also been teaching private and small group workshops for adults and children for the past 10+ years
I have taught private one-on-one lessons, small groups of about 5-10 students, and classrooms of about 30 students
I have helped my students pursue diplomas, further their career as artists, and develop a professional portfolio of work. My students have gone on to exhibit in the professional art work internationally. My photography students have also gone on to work in the commercial field.

I am a fine art photographer, commercial portrait and event photographer, mixed media artist and encaustic painter. I love sharing my love of art and knowledge with students who are enthusiastic about learning a new medium or expanding their knowledge.
I teach:
-traditional black and white photography techniques (shooting film, processing film, and darkroom printing)
-commercial digital photography, portraiture photography, event / wedding photography
-encaustic painting (the ancient art of painting with melted pigmented beeswax)
-mixed media art (collage, altered surface, photo manipulation)
-handmade book-making
-portfolio development (for any level artist or professional photographer looking for guidance to create a solid, cohesive body of work)
I teach private workshops from my home studio (or can come to you). I tailor my lessons to meet the individual needs or interests of my student.
