About Tariq
I began tutoring over 10 years ago alongside my classroom teaching career. Over time, my tutoring has evolved into highly targeted, results-driven support tailored to individual student needs.
I have worked with a wide range of learners — from those aiming to secure a Grade 4 pass to students achieving Grade 9s and excelling at Post-16. My experience leading Applied Maths at Sixth Form level has further strengthened my ability to support students with advanced content and rigorous exam preparation.

My lessons are carefully structured and tailored to each student’s goals. I begin with a short diagnostic task to assess understanding and address misconceptions. I then clearly model key concepts, breaking methods down step-by-step while explaining the reasoning behind them.
Students move on to guided practice before progressing to increasingly challenging exam-style questions. I place strong emphasis on problem-solving, exam technique, and how to secure full marks — particularly at GCSE Higher and Post-16 level.
For high-attaining students, I incorporate stretch and challenge questions to push towards Grades 8–9 or top A-Level outcomes. For students securing foundations, I focus on building fluency, confidence, and consistency. Each lesson ends with clear feedback and targeted independent practice to consolidate progress.
