About Shannon
I attended the University of Texas at San Antonio, where I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in ESL education. For the past year and a half, I have been working in a dual-language academy where I teach English as a Second Language to students from a variety of different backgrounds. I enjoy teaching English to new students, and love to see the progress that my students make when working with me.

As a classroom ESL teacher, I am trained in many techniques such as total physical response and Preview, View, Review. These techniques make it easier to learn English Vocabulary and become more proficient in everyday conversation. Although my specialties have to do with English phonics and reading, I have experience teaching essay writing and comprehension for English Language Learners as well. Many of my current students are making great strides in their English Language acquisition, and so will you if you choose me as a tutor.
