About Jack
Formerly a lawyer who became an educator due to my belief in a quality education as a constitutional right. My goal is always to demonstrate that students can be made to master a subject regardless of their starting ability level, simply by using a method that better responds to the way they learn.

Most students, especially in the transition to middle school or high school, will start to discover they're "bad at math" because of the introduction of letters and a new way of thinking about numbers. My goal is to make this new way of thinking about numbers come alive, focusing less on the abstract manipulation of symbols and more on building up from ordinary language. Lessons will be structured around slowly regimenting everyday "people talk", demonstrating the mathematical concepts that exist in things students are more familiar with and then turning them into a form that can be understood algebraically.
