About Amara
Hello, my name is Amara! I am a freshman Elementary Education major who has always loved working with children. Before starting my college degree, I gained experience working across three different daycare positions, and I am currently working at the Boys and Girls Club of America. I chose to study Elementary Education because I genuinely enjoy helping young learners find the joy in learning and guiding them through their early academic milestones.

Hi, I'm Amara! As a dedicated Freshman Elementary Education major, my goal is to make learning both fun and stress-free for young students.
My Teaching Method and Techniques:
I focus on building confidence and keeping kids engaged. I use positive reinforcement, patient explanations, and interactive learning games rather than rigid lecturing. I adapt to each child's unique learning style to make sure concepts truly click.
A Typical Lesson Plan:
Because every child learns differently, our 60-minute sessions are structured but flexible:
First 5–10 Minutes: Warm-up game or check-in to see how their school week is going.
Next 35 Minutes: Focused homework help, test prep, or building foundational skills in reading and basic math.
Next 10 Minutes: Interactive review activity or educational game to reinforce what we practiced.
Last 5 Minutes: Wrap-up and positive praise to end the session on a high note.
What Sets Me Apart:
While I am early in my formal teaching degree, I bring extensive hands-on experience working directly with children. I have worked three daycare jobs and currently work at the Boys & Girls Club. This means I understand child behavior, know how to keep kids focused, and excel at breaking down schoolwork into simple, digestible steps.
