About Louis
I’m an electronic music producer and educator with 15 years of production experience and 2 years teaching professionally.
As Louf, I’ve released several EPs and an album, run a record label, and worked on commercial projects, composing and designing sounds for a variety of media. Over the past two years, I’ve been teaching music production, helping students at all levels bring their ideas to life.
Whilst my teaching covers all aspects of electronic music, I specialise in electronica, ambient, and techno, with a focus on sound design and synthesis. I love crafting textures, building complex synth patches, and combining them with melodic ideas to create evolving, cinematic tracks with detailed, dynamic drum programming.

I focus on Ableton Live, exploring everything from composition and arrangement to sound design, mixing, live performance, and integrating hardware. I work across genres like techno, house, ambient, electronica, and club music.
Every lesson is tailored to you, your experience, your tastes, and your goals. We will deep dive into the instruments and effects you’re using, so you can move beyond presets and loops, make intentional production choices, and develop your own sound. Over time, the aim is to help you finish music you’re proud of.
I’ve helped many students overcome common roadblocks, from struggling to start new tracks and adding depth to stale ideas, to getting stuck in the “loop” phase and keeping songs engaging from start to finish. I focus on giving students practical, rock-solid strategies for each of these challenges, so you can focus more on making good music.
If you’re interested in performing live, I’ll work with you to build a live set in Ableton that feels truly your own. I’ll teach you practical techniques to make the whole process easier and less intimidating.
If you’re looking to release music, I can guide you through the whole process, from producing your tracks to delivering them to streaming platforms and promoting your release effectively.
I also create sound packs and Ableton presets, which are included in my lessons to give you extra tools and inspiration along the way.

Working with Louis has been one of the more comfortable experiences I’ve had with music tuition online. Sadly, most are aggressive in their teaching style, often charging extortionate amounts for copy and pasted formulas that they usually don’t even understand themselves. Louis’ approach is the polar opposite of this, more holistic and understanding. He holds a fountain of musical and technical knowledge and REAL working experience in the industry, which adds an inordinate amount of value to the tuition lessons he is able to provide. If you’re looking for someone who works WITH you and someone who genuinely cares about the outcomes you wish to achieve, then he is the man for the job.
Couldn’t recommend anybody more inspiring and encouraging for aspiring musicians who want to not only boost their skills in Ableton and production in general but develop a much deeper and richer understanding of what is required to navigate your own musical journey, something I believe no amount of YouTube or crash courses will ever help you achieve.
Thanks again, Louis!I had a series of music production lessons with Louis. He gave insight into his process, tracks, and philosophy, and I came away with a number of new techniques which I continue to apply to my own productions. He was very responsive and flexible, which made it easy to reschedule if needed.
Feels like there’s a constant stream of noise telling producers where to invest, playlists, PR, plugins, engineers. In reality none of it really does much without a well developed musical idea.
Working with Louf has been an incredible experience less about adding layers of complication and more about taking them away. We started refining my slightly chaotic workflow, and just getting sessions into a place where they made sense and didn't slow me down labeled, colourcoded and grouped. Then we built an intentional Ableton toolkit which works for the music I make and I actually understand and reach for, rather than constantly second guessing.
From there it was more about how ideas unfold music phrasing, structure and arrangement; he's a songwriter as well as producer. Has a deep understanding about the interconnecting parts of song structure so if you have a good seed idea this can be critical with helping it land. It feels like I'm driving with wing mirrors when we are in the session and actually able to see my blindspots all of a sudden. Mix-wise it’s been a few powerful changes with EQ shaping and training the ears that have made things feel a lot clearer. Juggling a busy schedule having this insight is incredibly valuable and allows you to produce faster with less points of friction.
The biggest shift for me is that I now finally feel like I have the vocabulary to express the ideas in my head and do so quickly and efficiently. I’m incredibly grateful for this and would recommend any other artist, even operating at advanced levels to work with Louis. It’s something I can guarantee will greatly increase the quality of your work whilst keeping it true and honest to your intention.
Excellent and professional teacher. Really helped me with taking some of my ideas over the line. Lou was great at seeing what some of my tracks were missing and helping me take stuff to the next level!
