About Chelsea
My name is Chelsea Macy and I have been a middle school ELA and social studies teacher for six years. I have a master's degree in Middle Childhood education, specifically focusing on social studies and English Language Arts. I have taught in two different states as well as in both private and public school systems. In my final few years of teaching, I taught for an online school, so I know how to really engage students in online lessons.

I promote a hands-on approach during the lesson in which the student does activities, games, and scavenger hunts to learn instead of just listening to lectures. A typical lesson would include a warm up game, teamwork, independent work, and then a checkpoint assignment to measure the student's understanding. Lessons that involve fun and constant communication between the teacher and student are what I strive for. These lessons are for students in 4th - 9th grade struggling with objectives in English language Arts.
