Hello! I’m Ellie, a fully qualified teacher with over 12 years of experience working with children aged 6–11, both in the classroom and as a private tutor. I’m passionate about creating a positive and supportive learning environment where every child feels confident and motivated to succeed. My approach is professional, personalised, and always encouraging. Outside of teaching, I’m an animal lover—especially fond of dogs and cats—and I enjoy travelling, learning new languages, playing sports, and all kinds of games. I bring this same energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm into my lessons to make learning fun, engaging, and rewarding for every student.

I specialise in helping children aged 6–11 build strong foundations in English, Maths, Reading, Spanish and more. How I Teach: My lessons are designed to be engaging, interactive, and confidence-boosting. I use hands-on activities and personalised tools to make learning meaningful, as well as interactive games and visual aids to suit your child’s learning style. I use ongoing assessments to pinpoint strengths and areas for growth. I give plenty of praise and encouragement to build motivation and self-belief. Each lesson is one hour, carefully broken into manageable chunks to help reinforce learning and keep your child focused - or timings can be adjusted to suit your child's needs. Whether your child needs support catching up, stretching further, or preparing for SATs, I tailor every session to their needs in a supportive, calm environment. Lessons are available in Leeds and online.

Ellie tutored my daughter for three years during her time as as an English teacher and Head of the English department at The Grange School in Chile. One of her colleagues recommended her to me. Ellie was a fantastic tutor and my daughter loved her lessons. All of Ellie's lessons were really fun and engaging and my daughter's spoken and written English really improved as a result of the tutoring sessions. She used lots of different stories, drama and games activities to bring the learning to life and used lots of praise, which gave my daughter lots of confidence with her English. We were really sad when she left Chile to return to the UK.
