About Karan
I am a First Class Honours graduate from The University of Warwick with a BSc (Hons) Degree in Economics. I have also attained a Distinction in my Masters in Law. At High School, I completed my IB Diploma, scoring 43 points out of 45, taking Mathematics Higher Level (7/A*), English Language and Literature Higher Level (7/A*), Economics Higher Level (7/A*), Physics Standard Level (7/A*), ITGS Standard Level (7/A*) and French Standard Level (7/A*).
I have a long-standing history of tutoring students since high school and have consistently ensured that my students perform beyond their potential. During my schooling period, I ran a tutoring program at an orphanage as part of my community service project. I tutored underprivileged children aged 13-15 at a local orphanage in Mathematics and developed teaching and presentation skills by preparing lesson plans, presentations and problem sets. The class average stood above 80% during their end of year exams for the three years of the tutoring program.

As a virtual tutor, my approach is rooted in personalised and interactive learning experiences. Here's an overview of my teaching method and techniques:
Teaching Method and Techniques:
1. Adaptive Learning: I assess the student's current understanding and adapt my teaching style accordingly. I recognise that each learner is unique, and I tailor my explanations and examples to suit individual needs.
2. Interactive Engagement: I believe in fostering an interactive learning environment. This involves asking questions, encouraging discussions, and actively involving the student in the learning process. Interactive engagement helps reinforce concepts and ensures a deeper understanding.
3. Real-World Examples: I integrate real-world examples to make abstract concepts more relatable. This not only aids in comprehension but also highlights the practical applications of the knowledge being conveyed.
4. Visual Aids: I utilize visual aids such as diagrams, charts, and multimedia presentations to enhance understanding. Visual representations can often simplify complex ideas and make them more accessible.
5. Problem-Solving Approach: For subjects involving problem-solving, I guide students through the step-by-step process of tackling challenges. I emphasize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to equip students for independent learning.
Below is an example of a typical lesson plan:
1. Introduction (5 mins): Brief overview of the topic to be covered, connecting it to previous knowledge if applicable.
2. Concept Explanation (15 mins): A detailed explanation of key concepts, with interactive elements to keep the student engaged.
3. Example Demonstration (15 mins): Walkthrough of examples to illustrate how to apply the concepts in different scenarios.
4. Interactive Session (10 mins): Q&A session or discussion to address any questions or concerns. This is a crucial part of the learning process.
5. Practice and Application (15 mins): Assignments or exercises for the student to practice the concepts learned. Feedback is provided promptly.
6. Summary and Recap (10 mins): A brief summary of the lesson, emphasizing key points. I encourage the student to ask any remaining questions.
What Sets Me Apart:
1. Personalization: I tailor my approach to the individual needs and learning style of each student, ensuring a customized learning experience.
2. Technology Integration: I leverage technology to create dynamic and engaging lessons. This includes interactive simulations, multimedia presentations, and online resources.
3. Holistic Understanding: I emphasize not only rote memorization but also a deep understanding of the subject matter. I aim to equip students with the skills needed for long-term retention and application.
My tutoring services are suitable for a broad range of learners, including Degree and Higher Education Students, High School and Secondary Education Students and even Adult Learners.
