The best way to learn a new language depends on each learner and their specific goals. Therefore, before I start teaching, I give a short placement test and discuss goals, time management, and interests with the student. Based on the test results, I then tailor lessons to suit individual needs and improve areas that are more challenging for the student. In a typical lesson, the student can expect to have a theme, and explore vocabulary, grammar, and sayings related to that theme. Moreover, some time during each lesson will be spent to explore cultural aspects and customs related to the French language around the world. The lessons will include a combination of written exercises, oral exercises, and listening exercises. As someone with a keen interest in learning languages (currently learning my sixth language!), I bring an expertise that combines both my perspectives as a learner and as a tutor. This allows me to relate to struggles that may arise when learning a language, and effectively guide you through different techniques and methodologies to help you achieve a better level of French. All levels are welcome!

Laurence is an amazing teacher and her fluency with the language really shows throughout the lessons! She spend a lot of time curating our lessons to be better suited to my daily life, which in turn help me undertake learning on my own as well!
