My technique in teaching is to provide the student with a complete opportunity to explore any problems or challenges they have in their studies. Once they have pinpointed the issue, we focus heavily on this topic through discussion, essays and a variety of fun and challenging homework until both of us are confident in their skills to do so independently. I often come back to completed topics later in order to keep the student's mind fresh in that area. I start my lessons 5 minutes free beforehand to settle into the session. I find this serves as a prelude to a better and more efficient lesson where my students feel more comfortable in answering and asking questions that they might not normally do in fear of appearing foolish. I consider this problem in teaching to be crucial as if it is not overcome it often prevents the student from comprehending the topic.
