About Adam
Maths and Physics tutor with over 6 years of experience teaching a wide range of students. I recently graduated from Durham University with a 1st-Class Masters Degree in Mathematics (MMath) and am taking a year out from study before pursuing a PhD in Mathematics. Throughout my higher education journey, I have had a particular love for tutoring. During my A-levels I worked as a maths instructor at Mathnasium, where I had professional training on maths tuition, and continued tutoring privately throughout the 4 years of my university degree.

I have been a tutor of maths and physics for over 6 years, tutoring a wide range of abilities and ages (6-18). From my experience, each student has very different needs and responds best to a slightly different approach. Accordingly, I plan sessions to fit the student's needs and deliver explanations tailored to their level of understanding and way of thinking. I strive to make my lessons interesting to keep the students engaged. In a typical lesson I will target one or two focused areas, providing explanations of the main theory to enhance understanding and then work through practice questions to ensure the student is able to apply the knowledge in practice. If the student is working towards particular exams, this extends to working through exam style questions and discussing exam technique to boost their confidence and help them achieve the best grade possible. My main focus is tutoring of secondary school pupils, including GCSE, AS and A-Level students, however I am also happy to help younger students and undergraduate maths students.

Adam tutored our son during years 10 and 11 in Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Adam was always calm and patient alongside making his sessions relevant and engaging.
