About Eve
I am a recent Economics graduate from Durham University. I have a very strong Maths background, achieving an A* at A level and an A in Further Maths AS, having taught myself the latter. I have peer mentored during Sixth Form, helping a student go from a C to an A. I also have a lot of experience helping younger family friends with personal statements and academics.

I am open to giving lessons to more or less all levels. My method is centred around first identifying fallacies in students' approach to mathematical questions, and then correcting them. I believe in the importance of observing someone's independent reasoning before proceeding with an explanation; this is because we learn best from trying to solve things ourselves and overcoming obstacles, rather than aiming to replicate what we are taught.
I will structure my lessons on several tiers of difficulty and will always try to introduce a creative element to problem solving. I will also provide an initial assessment to gauge the student's current level and potential for growth.
Lastly, I am confident that I can help students find their own way of improving in Maths. Naturally very patient as well as empathetic, I will tailor the explanation to each student's learning style.
