About Philip
I have a First Class Honours degree in Classics from Durham University and a Masters degree from Oxford. My joint focuses were in Early Greek philosophy and Late Antique Latin literature.
I have taught Latin and History to a University level both at Durham and Oxford. I presently work as a teacher in a leading UK independent school teaching Latin, Theology, and Maths.

It is based around where the student is coming from. When teaching complete beginners, going through a easy to use course (Latin to GCSE by John Taylor) is the best option. For those at a later stage, a focus on finding the areas where they are struggling, diagnosing the actual causes of difficulty which can sometime be quite different to the apparent issue, and focusing on these. Listening to the student is of the highest priority.
