About Daniel

My Name is Daniel and I've been playing drums for 20 years. I love what I do and it makes me happy to be able to share my passion with others. I’m a patient, adaptable, and professional Drum Instructor ready to help you reach your goals.

About the lesson

"How would you hold a baby bird in your hand? You don’t want it to fly away and you don’t want to crush it. That’s how gently you should be gripping your drum sticks!"

I teach Beginners, Intermediate and advanced levels.

Whether you are a complete beginner or somebody who never quite learnt the basics it is important to get solid foundation on any instrument.

-I split my lessons into 3 parts:

-1st part: warm up exercises- and review last week's lesson (5-10 minutes)

-2nd part: Learn new techniques practice it slowly, when it feels comfortable speed it up. When we are happy with the new material we will apply it in a drum grove and different musical situations.

-3rd part: We play some music :) It can be your choice but I also can suggest songs and help you to apply the fresh knowledge with music.

As a beginner you will learn

-Parts of the drum-kit
-How to hold the drum sticks
-How to AVOID injuries
-Warm up exercises, natural body position behind the kit - IMPORTANT WE ALWAYS WARM UP before practice, gigs, rehearsals!
-How to read drum notation
-1/4, 1/8,1/16 notes groves and fills (Find the beat of your favorite songs)
-1/8 triplet notes groves.
-5 most important rudiments
-4 bar phrasing
-4/4, 6/8, time signatures.
-Shuffle rhythms
-Triplets
-Basic independence exercises

-Intermediate lessons

-Snare drum rudimental exercises
-Bass drum techniques (Slide, swivel, heel toe)
-Finger control(French Grip)
-Moeller Method
