About Heather

Hi, I’m Heather.

I’m a Chief Remote Pilot, business owner, and CASA accredited Remote Pilot Instructor, working across aerial photography, thermal operations and commercial drone services.

In the past year, I’ve been recognized as a finalist in small business awards, including Outstanding New Business and Next Gen Leader 2025.

I’m also part of a very small group of female-led REOC holders in Australia, within a largely male-dominated aviation space.

MY BACKGROUND

I’ve built my drone business from the ground up, combining my background in brand, marketing and design with real-world aviation and operational experience.

That means I understand both sides of the industry:

• The technical and regulatory side of flying
• And the commercial reality of using drones within a business

There are over 40,000 licensed remote pilots in Australia, with just over 3,000 REOC holders, and only a small number of those are female-led operations.

This gives me a unique perspective on what it takes not just to fly, but to operate professionally, safely and sustainably.

WHAT SETS ME APART

I don’t just teach you how to fly a drone.

I help you understand:

• What you’re doing in the air and why it matters
• How to operate safely and within the airspace regulations
• How drones are used in real-world and commercial environments and what you need to know
• What it actually takes to move beyond recreational use

Whether you want to fly with more confidence, improve your results, or explore the path toward commercial work, I bring both practical experience and real-world insight into every session.

These sessions are designed to help you become more confident, capable and aware when flying and working with drones in real-world situations.

I offer both in-person and online coaching for recreational drone users and commercial drone pilots who want to level up their skills, understanding and real-world capability.

* This is not a formal Remote Pilot License course. *

I am a CASA accredited Remote Pilot Instructor and can support you in preparing for the RePL and beyond through separate training pathways. Your licensing options and next steps can be discussed during our sessions.

WHAT A TYPICAL SESSION LOOKS LIKE

Sessions are usually 60 minutes and tailored to your experience level and goals.

This is focused, one-on-one time, so it helps to come prepared with your drone, questions or specific areas you want to improve.

PREPARING FOR COMMERCIAL USE AND NEXT STEPS

If you’re considering taking things further, I can guide you through both the practical and decision-making side of moving into commercial drone use.
This includes:

• What you need to know before deciding to get licensed
• The pathway to becoming a Remote Pilot
• The difference between recreational and commercial use
• Basic accreditation, excluded categories and insurance
• What insurance covers and what it doesn’t
• Costs, responsibilities and expectations of operating commercially
• Planning flights and understanding risk (overview level)
• Permits, approvals and communicating with authorities
• Free and paid tools to improve your capability as a pilot

For those wanting to take it further, I can also help you understand:

• Business setup and early considerations
• How drones are used in business and commercial environments
• Pricing, positioning and client expectations
• What to expect when operating commercially in the real world
• The process of becoming a REOC and what that involves

This is real-world guidance to help you understand your options properly before committing time, money or formal training.

IMPORTANT

These sessions are not designed as a license or certification course.

You’ll get the most value if you are serious about improving your flying, understanding how drones are used in real environments, or exploring the next step toward commercial use.

If you want to get more out of your drone, improve how you fly, or explore what’s possible beyond recreational use, this will be a good fit.
