About Pip
I recently graduated from Cambridge University with a double-first class degree in English, and I was awarded the Collins Prize. I have been teaching for half a decade.
I am an award-winning actor, who has worked alongside some of the countries leading creatives and institutions, including Kenneth Branagh, Nicholas Hytner, Carrie Cracknell, The National Theatre, Marvel, Disney, Hammer Horror, and NT Live. I also work as an acting coach, and my clients have received offers to train at institutions including LAMDA, The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and Identity School of Acting.
Some particular highlights from my Cambridge degree were my papers on Tragedy, Ethics, and Visual Culture, the latter of which I received an 'exceptional starred first' mark (80+). I also specialise in Medieval Literature, Renaissance Literature, Shakespeare, the 'Long 18th Century', both Theatre and Film Studies, and systems of Visual Analysis. I wrote two first class dissertations - one on Ontology in Virginia Woolf's 'The Waves', and the other on the Montaignian influences on Orson Welles' final film 'The Other Side of the Wind'.

I have worked with dozens of students who have lost interest in the subject, have fallen behind their peers, or simply want to get more out of their academic experiences and aim higher. I pride myself on being a passionate, friendly, and encouraging tutor, who will craft a highly specialised programme specifically tailored to suit your academic needs. My classes will provide a foundational platform for your intellectual growth and development, both inside and outside the classroom.
My sessions usually last for an hour, and are offered to GCSE, A Level, and IB English students, or to students preparing for University entrance exams. I have also worked as a presentation consultant and aided students with longer works, such as creative writing practice, or dissertations. If you would like help with something not listed above, please get in touch, and we can discuss options.
