About Ellis

Grammar, writing skills, and pronunciation are the core pillars I use to help learners achieve CONVERSATIONAL FLUENCY. It is a small honest confession that I find the most joy in watching students move from simple everyday phrases for beginners to complex exam preparation like the DELF or DALF. My BA in Linguistics from the University of Michigan provides the academic foundation for these 8 years of teaching.

I prioritize clear goals and specific feedback, which helps students approach the language with real confidence. I currently live in France and enjoy gardening during my downtime.

About the lesson

Struggling with French accent and intonation often creates a barrier to feeling comfortable while speaking. I admit that I once found these sounds just as difficult to master as my own students do today.

Work centers on a homework module with direct feedback after every class. We track progress together. Improvement happens.

I integrate interview preparation and verb conjugation into our regular sessions. My rating reflects my focus on real world usage.
