About Jay
I love teaching, but my four years working as a full-time project-based learning teacher forced me to relegate my NatGeo Explorer work to nights and the summer break. I'm here to strike a new balance: where I can actively develop my project work AND teach part-time.
Also, when I was a student, I struggled when I didn't see the application of what I was learning. I wasn't bored, I was too excited to dive deep into the other activities that stoked my passions. I want to help others structure their own learning to see this style of learning as a strength, not a weakness.

Photography is not just a love of mine, it is a way of understanding the world and discovering my own voice.
Photography is also a great excuse to travel, to explore your own backyard, to find stories and follow them where ever they lead.
In this course, we will create photo stories to explore documentary photography and practice photography skills. You decide what goals to set, from pitching stories for publication to learning all the ins-and-outs of your manual settings while taking photos.
