About Erin
Collaborative pianist, vocal coach, conductor, organist, and educator with more than twenty-five years of experience spanning higher education, opera, sacred music, chamber music, and professional performance. Recognized for exceptional collaborative artistry, stylistic versatility, and a student-centered approach to teaching and coaching, I have partnered with singers, instrumentalists, conductors, and ensembles in academic, professional, and liturgical settings throughout my career. My work emphasizes thoughtful musical partnership, artistic excellence, and the development of confident, independent musicians through clear communication, musical insight, and meticulous preparation. Equally at home in the university studio, rehearsal hall, concert stage, and church, I am committed to cultivating artistry, curiosity, and meaningful musical connection in every aspect of my work.

About the lesson

A typical lesson starts with a brief conversation to hear about your practice for the week, then a warmup at the piano, and then a demonstration of what you have been working on. We we go over any concerns you may have, and then I will work creatively to help bring out your interpretation and develop your artist voice while maintaining stylistic integrity within each genre of music.
I teach by asking questions. There's an old adage that a good teacher will teach themselves out of a job. I want you to be independent and be able to learn on your own. I equip you with the skills to analyze your own playing, and the basic structured tools to improve it. You will come away feeling like "wow, I have so much to learn, and I know what to do this week in order to improve."
