About Melissa
I’m a Doctor of Physical Therapy student at Northeastern University with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science and a background in tutoring and academic support. Through my undergraduate and doctoral studies, I’ve developed a strong foundation in anatomy, biology, exercise science, and other health-related subjects. I’m patient, approachable, and passionate about helping students feel more confident in their abilities. I understand that every student learns differently, and I strive to create a comfortable, encouraging environment where students can ask questions, work through challenges, and develop skills that will support them beyond a single class or exam.

My tutoring approach is personalized, supportive, and focused on helping students truly understand the material rather than simply memorize it. I typically begin by reviewing class material and identifying areas that need extra attention, then use practice questions, active recall, guided review, and customized review sheets to reinforce concepts. Between sessions, I may create review materials based on previous lessons to help students continue practicing. My goal is to build both academic understanding and confidence while adapting each lesson to the student’s learning style, course, and individual goals. I work with students from elementary school through college, particularly in science, biology, anatomy, health sciences, and study skills.
