About Bevil
I completed my PhD in English Literature at the University of Southampton in September 2018, with a thesis focusing on twentieth-century poetry. Prior to that I graduated from Merton College, Oxford in 2012 with a BA Hons in English. My secondary school was Truro School where I gained three A-Levels in English (A), Maths (A), and Physics (A).
I am based in Oxford but I also spend one day a week in Chiswick.

It is my belief that good essay practice is not a mystery, or an inborn talent which we either have or don`t have, it is a technique which can be taught, in which ideas are set out clearly in a definable pattern. I specialise in helping students with this essay technique, by exploring with them a set of mental tools they can use to develop any argument. My background is in English Literature, particularly in English poetry, but good essay technique is a transferable skill and students from any essay-related subject can benefit from my tuition.
