About Gregory
I have been tutoring for over one year now, having also taught undergraduate physics laboratory courses at several points in my career. As a professional scientist running a laboratory, I instructed new and veteran employees in science, data analysis and laboratory methods. My education consists of an undergraduate physics degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and MA and PhD from Rice University, both in experimental physics.

I tutor high school and college students in their science and math courses. I will work problems with you, explain concepts that are unclear and do whatever else helps you to get a better handle on the material. I will also provide extra problems and reading materials if desired. Among the math courses I cover are: Algebra I and II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus and Calculus. I also will tutor in the physical sciences, including physics. I am an experimental physicist by training. To start, I request the student provide information on their class syllabus, some recent problem sets and any other class materials they can easily send as a PDF file. This lets me know what they are seeing in class and what is expected of them by their instructor. Doing so allows me to target their progress for improvement in their coursework. Unless you live very close to Dripping Springs, TX, I do remote tutoring utilizing a document camera. This means I write on paper that is imaged for you to see on your screen. Of course using Zoom allows us to screen share relevant materials. I am not the cheapest, but I do strive for excellence in my lessons. I charge by the session, and generally suggest having a session of up to 60 minutes duration.

What I like about Gregory's tutoring style is that he asks you questions about the math so that he understands how you are thinking through a problem. AND he hunts up electronic books and worksheets for additional practice on math concepts! Also, is really helps that he has a flexible tutoring schedule.
I've known Gregory for over 10 years, and I know him to be honest and diligent in his work. He has a PhD in Physics and I have a PhD in Mathematics, so I know a good explainer when I see one.
