I’m a Brazilian educator with over 15 years of experience teaching Portuguese, literature, and culture in Brazil and the United States — including work with universities, consulates, and international academic institutions.

As part of my work, I curate literature and learning materials designed to support identity, belonging, and language continuity — for children and parents. Language lives through stories, conversation, and shared experience.
Why do I teach?
Because language is not just communication — it’s identity, memory, and connection ️
And being an educator isn’t just what I do. It’s who I am.
I’m also the mother of a toddler, and I live this work every day at home. With care, playfulness, and intention, I’m constantly finding ways to keep Portuguese alive in our daily routine — through stories, conversation, music, and shared moments.
Raising my son with strong Brazilian roots, even while living abroad, has deepened my understanding of what families truly need: language that feels joyful, safe, and meaningful — not imposed.
That lived experience shapes everything I teach.

Over the years, I’ve seen how Portuguese can become a source of tension for families living abroad. My work is about transforming that tension into affection, confidence, and continuity.

How my lessons work
No two students are the same — and no two lessons are either.
Every class is carefully crafted around your goals, interests, and life context. I work with children, adolescents, and adults, including families learning Portuguese as a heritage language, always with close attention to the realities of multicultural households.
Lessons are dynamic and engaging — never repetitive or formulaic.
With children, we use role-play, stories, games, music, and imagination.
With teens and adults, we bring in music, literature, news, films, podcasts, cooking books, and everyday materials that reflect how Portuguese is actually lived and spoken.

My rates reflect my extensive experience and specialized training. I have over 15 years of professional teaching experience, including work with universities, consulates, and international academic institutions. I hold two master’s degrees — one in Portuguese as a Second Language and another in Brazilian Language and Culture — and I am currently completing a PhD in Latin American Cultural Studies.
All lesson materials are carefully curated and often created by me, tailored to each student’s goals, interests, and learning context. This includes authentic texts, cultural materials, media resources, and personalized activities designed to make learning effective, engaging, and relevant.
There are no additional fees for teaching materials or preparation time. Each lesson reflects not only the class time itself, but also the pedagogical planning, curatorial work, and individualized attention that support meaningful progress.
