About Elva
With 5 years of teaching and performing experience, I am an experienced violin tutor committed to helping students develop both technical mastery and artistic expression.
I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners discovering foundational techniques to advanced learners preparing for recitals, competitions, and exams.
One of the highlights of my career has been helping students progress from struggling with technique, posture, or stage confidence to confident performers capable of playing with skill, emotion, and musicality.
My teaching emphasises strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also fostering creativity, musical interpretation, and expressive performance. I incorporate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to provide students with a holistic understanding of music.
Lessons are tailored to each student’s pace, goals, and learning style, creating a supportive, patient, and inspiring environment. Teaching violin allows me to cultivate confidence, discipline, and a lifelong passion for music in every student I teach.

I teach violin using a methodology grounded in motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to balance technical skill development with artistic expression.
Lessons are tailored to each student’s abilities, goals, and learning style, combining structured practice, improvisation, creative exercises, and performance opportunities.
Motivation is central. I guide students to set meaningful goals, track progress, and celebrate achievements, cultivating perseverance, engagement, and self-confidence. Communication ensures lessons are interactive and collaborative, allowing students to ask questions, share challenges, and explore ideas freely.
Creativity is a core element. Improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises allow students to develop a personal artistic voice and deepen their emotional connection to music. Integrity emphasises disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, establishing habits that promote consistent growth and long-term excellence.
Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and introductory piano, giving students a well-rounded foundation in music and nurturing lifelong engagement.
