I am a teacher who is passionate about children and young peoples right to access excellent educational opportunities that includes the diversity of our learners, their interests and learning needs.
Seeing A child’s academic abilities and self confidence grow fills me with a great sense of achievement and privilege.
Each child is individual in their own right and each child has their own way of learning that needs to be celebrated and encouraged.

I have a diploma in Primary Education and working with Childrens check. I have been teaching / tutoring for 12 years with great success From Kindy to end of Year 8 in Maths and English.
I have a diverse background of experience teaching all levels of ability from additional needs to selective high school exams.
Within my teaching I also support the development of strategies that children and young people can transfer to their classroom to enhance their learning, self confidence and overall improvement.
I teach interactively with students, using intrinsic and extrinsic motivational opportunities to maintain interest in learning and meeting individual learning goals.

Perfect! Fiona is the perfect tutor for our 12yo son who has had learning difficulties throughout primary school. From our very first lesson 3 years ago, she connected with our son by telling him about some of her learning difficulties as a child and how she could relate to his feelings. Throughout our years with Fiona, we have seen how she can create a fun and productive lesson no matter what mood our son comes in with that day. Each lesson can be different- Sometimes they throw a ball while reciting times tables, sometimes they draw or play games. Fiona also frequently offers to liaise with teachers and other health professionals for feedback and assessment. Above all the reasons why we love Fiona is because our son adores her, our whole family adores her. We are beyond grateful for her skill and dedication.
