About Travis
In my over a decade studying music production, gestural digital musical instruments, and music technology, I have gained a deep theoretical and practical mastery of music production tools and techniques. In my experience teaching music technology at McGill University, I have discovered by deep passion for sharing these insights, and helping others learn to deeply understand and control their digital audio workstation. The modern music production studio resembles more an engineering laboratory than an artist's studio. I've seen many aspiring music producers who were overwhelmed with all the knobs and sliders, uncertain how to control all of the plugins and parameters that are found in a digital audio workstation. I've witnessed many producers go a long way without fully understanding how all of the tools work, yet sooner or later this lack of understanding always becomes a limitation.
In my experience teaching music technology at McGill University, I have developed a unique project-based approach to teaching music production that prioritizes hands on practice making music while building a strong theoretical foundation for understanding all the nuances of the digital audio workstation and all the tools found inside it. I can help any serious student to level up their music production knowledge and know-how, helping you to create the music you want to and make it sound great.
