  • 1) When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

I found my passion for UX/UI design after completing my bootcamp in October 2020, and that experience naturally led me into private tutoring. By February 2021, I began supporting new designers who were just starting their journeys, and I quickly realized how much I loved helping others build confidence, clarity, and real-world skills in the field. I have been tutoring 100s of students since then. I thoroughly enjoy seeing the great potential students have and help them grow as successful designers.
  • 2) Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

I teach UX/UI design with a focus on helping students understand not just how to design, but why certain decisions matter. I love diving into topics like user research, wireframing, visual hierarchy, accessibility, and building clean, intuitive interfaces. Portfolio storytelling, design critiques, and real‑world problem‑solving are some of my favorite parts of the process because that’s where students really grow. The only topics I enjoy a little less are the overly technical or outdated design theories that don’t translate well into modern workflows, but even then, I use them as teaching moments to show what actually works in today’s industry.
  • 3) Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

I’ve definitely had mentors and instructors who shaped the way I teach today. During my UX/UI bootcamp, there was this one TA who did a demo on Figma. I was blown away by her knowledge and how she inspired me to self train in Figma. Now I am able to inspire my students by turning their fear into love towards Figma. They showed me how powerful it is when someone believes in your potential and guides you with both structure and loving your tools. I had my supervisor believe in me so much that he wrote a long letter about how my services have made an impact in students’ lives. His influence is a big part of why I stepped into tutoring,I wanted to offer that same kind of support to emerging designers finding their way.
  • 4) What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

The first and foremost qualities a tutor should have are patience and empathy. A good tutor blends skill, empathy, and intention. You need patience to meet students where they are, clarity to break down complex ideas into something digestible, and strong communication so students always feel supported and understood. Adaptability is essential too and every student learns differently, and a great tutor adjusts their approach to match the person in front of them. Most importantly, you need genuine care for your students’ growth. When you truly want to see someone succeed, it shows in the way you teach, guide, and encourage them.
  • 5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

One moment that has always stayed with me happened during my UX/UI bootcamp. I remember this one project where I was assigned the team lead in a group of 3 students. I was struggling to gather the troop to work together cohesively. It was getting harder as there were ego clashes amongst peers. I stepped up and had an honest conversation about our deadline and set some realistic goals which helped the students focus shift and begin working amicably. I felt it was a learning experience for me as a leader and a student. That shift in perspective changed everything. It taught me how powerful it is when someone helps you reconnect with your own potential. It’s a big part of why I tutor today, I want my students to experience that same moment of clarity and confidence and learn that everyone can have differences in opinion and yet respect and work together in unison.
  • 6) What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or are still facing in your subject?

I’ve faced my share of challenges in UX/UI design bootcamp as a student. There were times when I had to work on complex projects and hold the team together. Once I graduated imposter syndrome definitely showed up more than once. When I became a tutor and then instructor for the same bootcamp I had to adapt to this new role and many times simplify my teaching methodology to accommodate students. Even now, with AI, the field evolves so quickly that staying current can be a challenge, but it’s also what keeps me growing. As a tutor, one of the ongoing difficulties is helping students push past their own self‑doubt, because I’ve been there myself and I know how real that struggle can feel. I always strive to work hard and educate my students to strive high and make an impact.
  • 7) Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

I’m passionate about teaching, but even more specifically, I’m passionate about guiding designers through the moments when everything finally “clicks.” UX/UI is a field where clarity, confidence, and mindset matter just as much as technical skill, and I love helping students connect those pieces. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about watching someone grow into their own voice as a designer. That blend of creativity, problemsolving, and personal transformation is what keeps me inspired every day. I also am very passionate about Pranic “Energy” Healing. I am a certified psychotherapy energy healer and always mentor students who are feeling low about themselves and uplift them through my empathetic approach.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof (besides answering this interview questions :-P)?

What makes me a Superprof is the way I combine real industry experience with genuine care for my students’ growth. I don’t just teach UX/UI design. I guide people through the mindset, clarity, and confidence needed to thrive in the field. My sessions are structured, supportive, and tailored to each student’s goals, and I bring the same level of professionalism and empathy to every interaction. I’m committed to helping students make real progress, build strong portfolios, and step into their careers with purpose.

I am so glad I found Superprof. Because Superprof reminds me so much as a tutor and instructor with the bootcamp I was working with. Unfortunately, they steered towards management and ended the bootcamp program. I feel again at home tutoring and mentoring students through Superprof. So thank you Superprof for this platform to bring tutors and students together. I am thoroughly enjoying it. Looking forward to many more years here!
