About
Growing up in school, I often struggled with understanding concepts from a fundamental, generic point of view. That is until I reached my senior year of high school and had a wonderful teacher who was able to explain topics I was struggling with, in a way that I can comprehend and understand. Through this, I became good at explaining things through a different lens. Naturally, I found my self helping friends, friends of friends, and then people would start to reach out for help on various topics. I found that tutoring was actually really fun for me and it also helped me get a better understanding of concepts.
I've been tutoring for a couple of years now, often spending many nights at the local Starbucks. I am currently in school studying towards my biochemistry degree to hopefully one day become a dermatologist. The important thing is that I like to have fun, which I strongly believe is important when studying. If you find the work fun, its no longer work.
I have a lot of experience working with students around my age and older since that's who I was around in my high school and college classes. The great thing that I feel helps a lot when tutoring is that I was also a daycare teacher for 2 years. This means that I am very capable and love working with small or older children as well.

Depending on the student, I usually start by assessing what their needs are. For example, if repetition and "pop" quizzing is helpful then that's how we will go about learning. Some students however don't learn by repetition, so we would, therefore, study the material in a different manner, such as example-based or relating to real life.
