About Izzah
Hi! I’m Izzah. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and am currently studying Dentistry, which has strengthened both my science knowledge and my ability to explain challenging concepts in clear, approachable ways. I’ve loved helping students build confidence and succeed ever since high school, and I now offer tutoring for students from Grades 1–12 in a wide range of subjects. I believe that every student thrives when they feel supported, encouraged, and confident in their abilities. My goal is to create a warm, comfortable environment where questions are welcomed, mistakes are part of the learning process, and progress—big or small—is celebrated. Outside of academics, I enjoy painting, drawing, and embroidery, and I love bringing that creativity into lessons to make learning engaging and fun. I’m excited to support your child and be a positive, patient presence in their academic journey.

About Me & My Teaching Style:
I believe every student learns best when they feel supported and understood. My teaching approach is patient, encouraging, and centred around building confidence. I take time to explain concepts clearly, use examples that feel familiar to the student, and adjust my lessons to match their learning style. Whether they learn best through visuals, talking things out, or hands-on practice, I make sure they feel comfortable and capable every step of the way.
What a Lesson With Me Looks Like:
Each session has a gentle structure to help students feel grounded and confident:
1. A Friendly Check-In: How they're feeling and what they want to focus on.
2. Quick Review: We go over the previous lesson so they feel prepared moving forward.
3. Learning Time: I introduce new ideas slowly and clearly, using easy-to-follow examples.
4. Guided Practice: Students get time to try problems or exercises with my support nearby.
5. Positive Wrap-Up: We celebrate what they did well and talk about small goals for next time.
What Makes Me Different:
- Extensive Experience Across Ages: I’ve worked with students from Grades 1–12, supporting them in math, English, and general homework needs.
- Peer Tutoring Roots: I started tutoring in high school, helping classmates in Grades 11 and 12 with math and science. These early experiences taught me how to explain concepts clearly and kindly.
- 3+ Years of University Tutoring: While at university, I spent over three years tutoring high school students through United for Literacy in Hamilton, helping them strengthen their foundations, build study skills, and gain confidence.
- Elementary-Level Teaching: I’ve volunteered at summer camps teaching younger children basic math and English, which helped me learn how to make learning fun, gentle, and engaging for early learners.
- Warm, Patient Teaching Style: I create a calm and positive space where students feel safe asking questions, making mistakes, and trying again—without any pressure or judgment.
- Personalized to Every Student: I adapt every lesson to each child’s pace, learning style, and goals, meeting them exactly where they are and helping them grow in a way that feels natural and encouraging.

Whether your child needs help catching up, staying on track, or building confidence in a specific subject, I provide lessons that are supportive, engaging, and designed to help them grow!
