About Sylvia
I am a university student who has a passion for teaching. I have one year of tutoring experience with primary to grade 9 students. Guiding my students’ learning and gradually seeing them gain confidence is gratifying. Having been a student who received tutoring in high school, I am aware of the stresses of falling behind or wanting to achieve better grades. Tutoring was a huge help to me and I wish to be able to help current students gain confidence and improve their grades.

I provide personalised tutoring. In the first lesson I will aim to identify my student’s weaknesses and concerns and help them set goals. These goals will be revisited every lesson to ensure there is steady progress (this may require the student to complete homework prior to the next session if required). In order to ensure my student’s success I will identify what kind of learner they are so that I can employ the most suitable method of teaching so that each lesson is successful.
