About Brittany
I have spent over seven years helping young musicians discover the wonderful world of music through the violin. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Historical Performance with a focus on the baroque violin, which taught me the deep roots of violin playing. My passion lies in working with young children using playful, age-appropriate strategies that build their musical foundation naturally.
I place a huge emphasis on developing strong ear training and sharp aural skills right from their very first lesson. To do this, we use exciting storytelling, fun rhythm games, physical movement, and simple melodies to teach proper technique and musicianship. My classes incorporate highly effective Suzuki and Kodaly-inspired methods to make learning feel like a natural language.
For example, I recently taught a five-year-old student who struggled to hold their bow correctly and stay focused during practice. We turned the bow hold into a story about a little bunny hopping on a string, and we played a game where they paused whenever the music stopped. Within a few weeks, their posture was excellent, and they were happily matching pitches by ear with absolute ease.
I believe that a child's early musical experiences should be filled with laughter, exploration, and positive reinforcement. We will move our bodies to the beat and sing along with the violin to connect deeply with the rhythm. This gentle method keeps children excited to pick up their instrument every single day.

My teaching methodology focuses on fostering your imagination and helping you build a unique musical creation on the violin. We will dive into creative composition for violin, which includes arranging existing melodies, writing original pieces, and exploring non-traditional sounds. This approach is perfect for adults looking to build their playing confidence and digital creators who want to make unique music for their online videos.
I remember working with a student who wanted to write background music for their online channel but felt they were not creative enough. We started by taking a simple folk tune they knew and changing the rhythm to make it sound modern and exciting. Soon, they were writing their own violin parts and recording them with total confidence.
I am fully committed to supporting you at every stage of your growth to ensure you excel and find your artistic identity. We will experiment with cool bowing techniques and different sound effects to make your instrument sound truly modern. You do not need any previous writing experience because we will take everything at your own comfortable pace.
