About Skylar
I teach guitar with over 7 years of experience and an Associate of Arts in Guitar Fundamentals. My expertise is coaching students for band auditions, live performances, and ensemble playing. Lessons focus on rhythmic precision, stage presence, and creative collaboration.
I guide students in improving timing, dynamics, and musical communication within a group. Lessons include improvisation, soloing, and ensemble interplay. My teaching style is encouraging, focused, and designed to build confidence.

I teach guitar with an emphasis on ear training, melodic dictation, and song transcription. Students learn to identify intervals, chord progressions, and melodies by listening. Lessons focus on building a strong connection between ear and instrument.
We practise exercises in interval recognition, melodic reproduction, and transcribing tunes accurately. Students gain confidence performing and improvising using their aural skills. Lessons are interactive, practical, and goal-driven.
I work with campfire strummers and blues seekers, providing guidance and consistent feedback. Lessons emphasise listening first, then playing with accuracy. Students strengthen musical intuition and confidence.
Lessons balance ear training with applied guitar practice. Students leave able to pick out melodies and play what they hear. Together, we make ear training a natural part of musical growth.
