About CJ
I am a passionate and experienced Math tutor with a strong academic background in Mathematics, Statistics and Data Science. I hold a BSc in Mathematics, an MSc in Data Science and a PhD in Statistics, alongside four years of teaching and tutoring experience, including working as a university tutor at UCD.
My aim is to make Math clear, approachable and less intimidating. I particularly enjoy helping students who feel they are struggling with a topic or lack confidence in their ability. I adapt my teaching style to suit each student's individual needs, learning style and goals.
I also have research experience in Mathematics Education, including published research, which has given me a strong understanding of how students learn and how to explain mathematical ideas effectively.
Whether you are looking to improve your grades, prepare for an exam, strengthen particular areas or simply become more confident in Math, I will work with you step by step to help you achieve your goals.

Each lesson is fully tailored to the individual student. We will first identify the areas you find most difficult and then work through them in a clear and structured way.
Lessons can focus on: Understanding difficult topics from the curriculum, working through problems step by step, homework and assignments, exam preparation and revision, identifying and improving weaker areas, as well as building confidence and improving overall performance.
I place a strong emphasis on understanding rather than memorizing. I will explain concepts in different ways until they make sense, and we will work through plenty of examples and questions together.
As exams approach, lessons can become more focused on exam technique, past-paper questions, time management and the specific areas where you need the most improvement.
Lessons are available as 30-minute or 60-minute sessions, depending on your needs. Individual and group lessons are also available, with groups limited to a maximum of three students.
My goal is not only to help you get better grades, but to help you become more confident and independent in Math.
