  • 1) When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

I have always been interested in innovative technology and solving problems. Since high school, I have been following cryptos but I did not take it seriously as a career and an investment until later. I started trading in college and, upon graduation, I got a position at a consulting company. I was there for two years and resigned to pursue a career in cryptocurrency. Superprof allows me to earn a stable income teaching others to trade while I am trading and I am very grateful. Tutoring and consulting is a great way to reach an audience while I study for the CFP (Certified Financial Planner) and consider starting a company offering crypto technology services.
  • 2) Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

I cover everything you need to start trading cryptocurrencies. One of the principles of cryptocurrencies is that the entry fee to use the system should be as close to free as possible. If you have a computer, I can help you exchange dollars for popular cryptos like Bitcoin and Ethereum, and safely use them in a range of financial products and marketplaces. I do a lot of research in decentralized finance products and protocols, I do some technical analysis when making trades, and I have a social network that keeps me up to date on any relevant news. I have several prepared lessons on a variety of topics but I do not have an extensive course in any specific subject. I can prepare more lessons when requested and I am always available to compare notes and share opinions about crypto projects and politics.
  • 3) Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

My role models are all the stereotypical popular science figures like Elon, Vitalik Buterin, Charles Hoskinson, Jack Dorsey, Nikola Tesla, Decartes, Fermi, Faraday, Feynman, Bill Gates, Mark Cuban, Sam Harris, and certain anonymous hackers and developers like Satoshi. All of these people took on great risks to further the progress of science and liberty. I didn't really have a teacher for cryptos but I give credit to my many great professors in Applied Computing Systems at Tulane. I learn a lot from anonymous people on the internet. #CT #DYOR
  • 4) What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

Having extensive experience is an important factor when teaching, especially in this field where everything is new and changing. Interfaces and processes are still being developed and brought to market so having a high level of understanding will help navigate and predict any issues. Also speaking in a way that anyone can understand is a skill I have learned more recently. I consult with a wide range of people and investment sizes, and I have learned to adjust my lexicon and goals with each individual to meet their needs.
  • 5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

There are more anecdotal stories than you have time for about people losing their cryptos, getting hacked, or just making a bad investment decision. I have made many mistakes myself, usually not of technical error but of misjudging progress in the industry. The trick is to not make the same mistake twice, and I have distilled these lessons down to security policies that are secure enough to protect anyone from anything. I will also help you find a trading strategy and help you manage your risk so you never end up in a situation you are not prepared for.
    * "Not your keys; Not your coins." If you keep your money on an exchange, broker, or bank, then you do not have total control of your money.
  • 6) What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or are still facing in your subject?

There is always room for improvement in trading. In speculative markets, it is a constant effort to manage risk and optimize your investments. Outside of trading, I challenge myself with studying for the CFP certification and learning python so that I can implement algorithmic investing techniques and data science. For tutoring, I am working to reach a larger audience and offer more topics for lessons and services.
  • 7) Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

I am passionate about a larger political schema that I will summarize with two ideas: self-sovereignty and anticorruption. This has implications about the rights of individuals and the interactions between them. In this bifurcated political world, both sides are corrupt and this precipitates into drastic inflation and fraud. The answer is to hedge these risks, at least partially, by diversifying into decentralized finance and the metaverse. It is evident that, for now, it is not possible for any entity to affect these core cryptocurrency networks.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof (besides answering these interview questions :-P)?

I am here to help. I am not a lecturer trying to sell you a course that you pay up front for and regret later. Some people are looking for a course to drag them through dozens of hours of semantics. My teaching sessions are more practical, and it helps a lot if you come with specific questions and goals so we can get you what you need faster.
I operate with the highest level of integrity. I have helped individuals move hundreds of thousands of dollars, and about a third of my students reveal all their account information to me which is never recommended. My policy is always to make the individual aware of security flaws and suggest ways they can do business without compromising themselves. I am not a Certified Financial Planner yet, but I use their standard of ethics and I put my clients' interests first at all times.
