About Yaamin
I help actors win places at the world’s top drama schools (RADA, LAMDA, Guildhall, Central, Royal Welsh, Mountview, Oxford) and master self-tapes for film and TV auditions. My students range from GCSE and A-Level drama pupils building confidence, to aspiring drama-school applicants, to working professionals levelling up tapes and landing representation. Every session is direct, practical and tailored - you leave with tools you can apply immediately.
I am a former professional actor, previously represented by Curtis Brown on the same roster as Tom Holland in 2018 with over 20 years of acting experience. My work spans stage and screen: I led ITVX’s Platform 7 opposite Jasmine Jobson (Top Boy), held a recurring role in Apple TV’s The Essex Serpent alongside Tom Hiddleston and Claire Danes, and appeared in Sky’s Wolfe and The Lazarus Project with Paapa Essiedu. On Stage I led The Bone Sparrow (three hours incl. interval, UK tour); Brainstorm at the Royal Albert Hall and the National Theatre (filmed for BBC). I currently star in the BFI/Warner Bros short Run Outs (recent festival wins). I’ve been championed by top casting directors including Nina Gold (Game of Thrones, The Crown, Star Wars), giving me first-hand insight into what the very top of the industry is looking for. Within my first month of joining Curtis Brown, I reached the final round of auditions for Sam Mendes’ 1917, working directly with Nina Gold and Sam Mendes in the room - an experience that set the tone for the calibre of work I’ve pursued ever since.
Alongside my acting career, I founded an independent drama company called P.A.E. (Preparation, Action, Ending), where the only “paement” required was effort. Working with actors from Identity School of Acting and other top drama schools, we focused on theatre-making, stage combat, and collaborative performance and ensemble movement. P.A.E. embodied my belief that true growth doesn’t come from privilege or shortcuts, but from discipline, creativity, and relentless effort - a philosophy I carry into every coaching session.
I’ve also facilitated workshops for Company Three, helping young people find confidence and expression through drama. These experiences have shaped my coaching into something unorthodox, dynamic, and real.
My sessions aren’t didactic or prescriptive — they’re collaborative, conversational, and designed to excavate the truth of your performance. We may laugh, we may cry, but we will always push you to your limits and unlock new depths in your craft.
I didn’t attend drama school; I earned representation and roles through work on stage and networking with high-level industry professionals and collaborators from RADA, LAMDA and Guildhall circles.
I also hold a First-Class BA in Business Management, which I use to help actors with agent strategy, Spotlight positioning and long-term career plans.
I stepped back from acting to prioritise fatherhood and faith. Now I coach with the same standards I worked by: focused, ethical, and uncompromising on craft. Whether you’re preparing for drama school, sharpening self-tape skills, breaking into the industry, or simply building confidence, I can guide you with honesty, insight, and care. My goal is simple: to help you become the best version of yourself as an artist - unique, fearless, and unforgettable.

I specialise in drama-school preparation, self-tape mastery and audition confidence. Whether you’re aiming for RADA, LAMDA, Guildhall, Central or Royal Welsh, or levelling up for professional film and TV auditions, every session is designed to give you practical tools and measurable progress from the very first hour.
What we do:
• Self-Tape Mastery (Film/TV): on-camera rep after rep, framing/eyeline/tempo, choice-stacking that reads, immediate retakes. I will act opposite you as your reader.
• Audition Mastery (including mock auditions): script triage, bold yet flexible choices, redirection drills, room/Zoom etiquette, follow-up strategy.
• Monologues & Scenes: fast text breakdown (objectives/beats/actions), playable notes, timing, listening and reactivity.
• Voice, Accents & Impressions: projection, articulation, placement; UK regional, General American, international accents; character voices and impersonations where useful to brief.
• Singing (acting through song): performance choices, breath/support and presence for drama-school songs or actor-musician auditions (not classical vocal tuition).
• Career Strategy (on request): Spotlight audit; materials; agent targeting (tiers, emails, meetings); pricing; pipeline tracking. Drama-school prep if you want it - you do not need drama school to attract a top agent; I’ll show you both routes.
First session - you will leave with
• A marked script with playable actions
• Two concrete techniques that shift your performance immediately
• A micro-plan for your next tape/audition + how to measure progress
My approach Unorthodox, yes; unfocused, no. We work on camera, in the text, and in the breath. Expect direct notes, targeted drills, and choices that read on tape. High standards, safe practice, professional boundaries; no explicit/s**ual material. Sessions can be recorded on request for your review.
Who I work with
• GCSE / A-Level students aiming for top grades and confidence
• Drama-school applicants (RADA, LAMDA, Guildhall, Central, Royal Welsh, Mountview, Oxford)
• Third-years polishing showcases and industry etiquette
• Working actors levelling up self-tapes, recalls and set readiness
• Beginners breaking in without formal training
• Professionals needing voice/public-speaking presence

Yaamin’s one of a kind. I value his feedback and insight. He listens more than he speaks. And he truly cares about your craft.
Yaamin has always been an insightful, inspiring and trustworthy person. He has been a strong influence on my own acting journey from the very beginning and I believe his expertise and acting experience will provide his students with the keys to a successful career.
What sets Yaamin apart is that he’s actually been there. He knows what it takes to get an agent, how to stand out in auditions, and how to survive in this industry without losing yourself. His advice on professionalism and etiquette is something I’ll carry with me for the rest of my career.
I recently started my sessions with Yaamin thinking I’ll just give it a go, and now it’s already been a few weeks and multiple sessions in each of those weeks. Each time I’ve left feeling refreshed and with a genuine deep confidence, knowing I’m authentic in the way I use my voice, not like a mimic but really giving something real which I can feel is also felt by others now. Challenges and the work Yaamin sets to work on before our next session has become something to conquer rather than tasks to complete, entering the next session and leaving with a new air of confidence every time. He empowers you and pinpoints your strengths and where you can improve with clarity. Also, the passion he has for acting is heard in his voice and energy throughout the entire session - which isn’t a surprise since he’s lived and breathed it for many years.
You can trust Yaamin will facilitate your journey and steer you in the right direction. I truly recommend, and believe it’s a privilege that someone who has such an experience in the field already is currently available for all.Outstanding tutor. I had the opportunity to learn from Yaamin while preparing for my LAMDA exams, and he made the process clear, supportive, and enjoyable. He is an outstanding tutor — patient, a great listener, and very knowledgeable in his subject. His teaching style is both professional and approachable, which gave me a lot of confidence. I would highly recommend Yaamin to anyone looking for exam preparation or performance coaching. Book him before he gets too popular!
Yaamin is an absolute master when it comes to accents and voice work. In just a few sessions he transformed my American accent into something completely authentic, and gave me tools to switch easily between different UK regional voices. It’s opened up so many more opportunities for me as an actor.
I had never acted before and was terrified of even reading out loud in front of someone. Yaamin created such a supportive environment where I could laugh, make mistakes, and slowly build my confidence. I now feel comfortable speaking in front of groups, and I’m even auditioning for local productions.
Yaamin doesn’t just teach you lines - he teaches you how to own the room.
Recently started getting back into acting but didn’t know where to start; Yaamin’s probably one the best instructors and tutors for giving advice and the confidence to help me tape before my next audition. Super polite and super open, couldn’t recommend anybody better.
Every session is different, but always challenging in the best way. You grow without even realising it.
Yaamin gave me confidence I didn’t know I had - I left every session feeling inspired and ready to perform.
Worked with Yaamin on several self tapes across the years! Has always given expert advice and will always be my go to self tape buddy. Highly recommend if you’re looking for detailed advice that adds layers to your tapes
He doesn’t waste a single minute - you get practical, honest feedback that works in the real world.
Before meeting Yaamin, self-tapes filled me with dread. He taught me everything - from how to frame the shot, to understanding the text, to staying calm when redirection happens. My tapes have improved massively, and I’ve had more responses from casting directors since working with him.
Professional, encouraging, and genuinely invested in your growth. Couldn’t recommend him more.
I had the privilege to work with Yaamin when I was attending IDSA as a classmate but also attended his PAE workshop sessions, which he organised and led as extra sessions to practice our skills, through movement, voice and script breakdowns. This has helped develop my skills further as an actor which has then transfered into my professional work.
Yaamin is very passionate with the entertainment industry and has an in depth approach with studying the text and then applying it to make a create a more realistic performance. He also has a hardworking attitude and wants to help bring out the best in everyone by being attentive to sharpen your craft.I've been working on self tapes with yaamin for years now. I can confidently say he's absolutely and wholly grasped what it takes to have a successful self tape audition. What helps is that yaamin himself is an actor - so his approach is empathetic and holistic, he knows what you need, not what you want. Yaamin has taught me how to analyse a script and make it my own. And I've witnessed many recalls and secured acting jobs because of his method!
Working with Yaamin has been one of the most creatively fulfilling experiences I've had. He's not just an improvisational theatre coach - he's a whirlwind of energy, passion, and infectious enthusiasm for the craft.
Before I started sessions with him, I struggled with confidence and always second-guessed myself when it came to things like impersonations, singing, or even just letting loose creatively. But Yaamin has this amazing way of making you feel completely free to experiment, fail, laugh at yourself, and grow.
Thanks to him, my impersonations have gotten sharper, my singing and beatboxing have improved massively, and I’ve tapped into parts of myself I didn’t even know were there. His exercises are fun, his feedback is honest and encouraging, and above all, he genuinely cares about your growth as a performer and a person.
What I loved most is how effortlessly creative he is - the way he brings characters to life, turns the simplest prompt into a full-blown scene, or throws in the most unexpected but hilarious twist mid-session. Being around that kind of creativity made me want to push my own boundaries.
If you’re looking for someone who can help you unlock your potential, get out of your head, and just play again - Yaamin is your guy. Can’t recommend him enough.Yaamin has a very warm and guiding approach to acting as a whole, but will still push you in a way that makes you want to better yourself. Exploring the text not through theory, but the way it was meant to be performed through movement, voice and realism. Yaamin is extremely passionate in his rhetoric and is a great listener, working with you and applying his teachings with the focus of sharpening and honing the current skills that you have. This was most evident when I used to be a member of PAE. An acting group created and led by yaamin where he would lead a number of different acting workshops to improve monologues and explore a range of acting techniques.
