About Chante
I am currently a 4th year Curtin primary education student. I have had experience tutoring both individual and group sessions in all primary subject areas (Math, English, HaSS, Science, Religious education, Sport and Health). In all tutoring situations I have seen my students flourish by gaining increased confidence in their skills and abilities, which in turn positively effects their learning and academic goals.

My teaching method is largely focused around a student-centred environment where the students I encounter have an active role in their learning. I believe teaching and learning should be a combined effort on both the educator and students behalves, thus seeing the student become an active agent in their learning while taking responsibility for their learning and academic success.
Most of my lessons will include building on the student's confidence with each skill as I have found this becomes a large contributor to their overall self esteem and confidence when attempting academic problems. I am a huge believer in visual, concrete materials (adapted from a Montessori framework) to assist in the learning and development of new skills. I have found that this allows students to see the skill used in real-life situations, thus giving it context and purpose.
