About Teck Gen
My earliest teaching experience started without me realizing it – I tutored my peers alongside my own revision for SPM, guiding them from C to A+!
When I was in London for my Bachelor’s Degree, I took up part-time tutoring, mentoring students all over London in Maths, Science, Economics, and Mandarin (ranges from primary to A-levels). Some of the students requested for me to continue tutoring even after I am back in Malaysia, prompting me to venture into online tutoring.
In formal education, I served stints as a substitute teacher back in my primary school – I am truly honored to be invited to be part of my alma mater's teaching force!

My experience in debate for 8 years has greatly influenced the way I learn, and hence the way I teach. The easiest way for a person to understand a topic and to remember it for a longer period is via good examples. For instance, when I am teaching Economics, I will always try my best to link a certain concept to the current affairs around the world, which, in my opinion, is a good way for the students to see how the concept can be applied in a real situation. After having a clear understanding of the concept, everything ranges from the complex formula, logic behind any market's reaction will fall in place.
