About Laura
HI there! My name is Laura Waringer. I am a director, actor, writer, producer and academic currently based in the Southeast. I am the founding artistic director of Wanderlust: Theatre on Location, a professional site-specific musical theatre company that stages productions "on location" across the country. I hold a BFA from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, an MFA from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, UK and a PhD from Florida State University. In addition to my professional creative industry work, I currently serve as the head of Musical Theatre at Tulane University in New Orleans. I am currently taking on private students for vocal and acting coaching. I specialize in vocal technique, acting through song, musical repertoire, monologue coaching, scene study, and audition, college, & recital preparation. As I hold a PhD, I am also currently taking on tutoring clients for a variety of subjects, though I specialize in English, Literature and Writing. I can also lend expertise to college essay crafting, as well as preparatory study skills. I served as a private tutor for high-profile clients in both New York and London for a number of years, and pride myself on providing a supportive, encouraging environment for young students to gain confidence and thrive.

As the current head of Musical Theatre at Tulane University, I am an experienced acting and vocal coach whose clients range from young students to Broadway professionals. I specialize in vocal technique, acting through song, musical repertoire, monologue coaching, scene study, and audition, college, & recital preparation. I have taught for Stagecoach Theatre Arts in London, The After the Storm Foundation, and The Margate Players Summer Youth Theatre, and as a founding instructor at Making Light Productions. A typical lesson with me isn't typical! I tailor my work with each of my students to match their goals and unique talents. We first identify your goals for lessons, whether that's developing foundational singing or acting technique, building your repertoire, or preparing for a specific audition. We then put together a bespoke plan that works towards their goals while also emphasizing the importance of the process. Students in my studio are always met with encouragement, compassion, and expertise to ensure they meet their performance goals in a supportive environment.
