About Gabriela
I was born in Mexico City, but grew up in New York City. I learned English and Spanish at the same time allowing me to become fluent in both languages. Currently, I am a senior in college working on pursing my Theatre degree with a minor in business. I love interacting with students and helping them with their language skills. I look forward to working with you!

My teaching style is based on learning by doing. I work hard to engage my students in material that interest them and I find that hands on learning helps them capture and understand the material better. I walk them through everything they need to know, and I repeat the material as many times as they need me to. I do my best to stay away from lecturing, and instead keep them engaged in constant conversation. I like to find out the things that they are interested in, so that I can find material based off those things. For example, if my students is interested in sports or a particular celebrity, I will find videos, readings, and build a lesson plan to include material about sports and celebrities that help them better understand the class subject I am tutoring in. My main goal when I am in a tutoring session is to make sure that my students is comfortable and following the lesson, if at any time my student is confused, then I like to go back and find out where the confusion is coming from.
