About Amir
My name is Amir, I'm a second-year student at university studying for a Maths and Philosophy degree and I aspire to be a teacher. I've always enjoyed teaching and helping other students - I was selected to be a tutor at school to students struggling with Maths, and then my passion for teaching led me to teach piano, and now to work part-time leading a choir. Despite this recent foray into teaching music, my passion for teaching lies in maths, helping students tackle a particularly difficult problem or understand an abstract concept.
I received A stars in both Maths and Further Maths at A level before heading to Bristol to continue my studies.

My lessons are usually 50 mins - 1 hour. They involve going through problems of a certain topic together with a student, beginning with easier questions in order to grasp the subject and then spending the last part attempting challenging questions for a deeper understanding. Most often, for GCSE and A-Level students, this involves tackling the last few questions on a past paper. Students are also encouraged to bring their own problems and questions to the lesson.
