About Liv
My name is Liv and I'm a first year MD student at the University of Melbourne. I am a one time GAMSAT test-taker receiving a score of 69 in section 1 and 82 in section 2.
I'm very passionate about helping people get into medical school and through my own experience of how stressful and confusing it can be. I've been tutoring for a while and really hope to pass on what I've learned through it all onto my students

For section 1, I take a very methodical approach to help it feel less subjective. I teach predominantly how to reason the section 1 answers and focus on developing techniques to breakdown the passage and question to make finding the correct answer a lot easier.
I believe my approach to section 2 is what brought about this score and my hope is that I can help other students get the section 2 score they're aiming for My approach to Section 2 is quite structured meaning that even students who aren't confident writers will be able to find success. It's simple and primarily focuses on writing essays rather than reading a lot of theory. I believe that the process of writing and receiving feedback is the best way to improve Section 2. Getting a good score isn't about being the best or fanciest writer but rather about communicating your ideas and opinions clearly.
I interviewed at the University of Melbourne in 2021 and was lucky to receive admission on my first and only medical school interview. There is a misconception that interviews can go unprepared for and while that may be true for some, going in prepared and practiced can really make or break your performance on the day. My approach to tutoring interviews is focused on using simulations to highlight any areas for improvement and then uses drills to improve those specific weaknesses. I can tutor both graduate and undergraduate interviews.
I'm happy to do online tutoring or in person at one of the University of Melbourne libraries.
