About Sami
I'm Sami (they/them) and I love maths and stats. I studied maths for my undergraduate degree and have also completed a Master's in Health Data Science. Currently, I'm completing a PhD in Health Research to use maths/stats/data science to improve people's health. Alongside my PhD, I like to help other people on their maths journey as I believe everyone has the potential to grasp maths - no matter how scary it may seem to you!

I have a relaxed and patient approach, and will help you learn at your own pace. Let's work together to find a way of thinking about maths that makes sense to you. I can tutor any level from Year 6 to Degree level, and everything between including GCSE, A Level. Or maybe you just want to know how to use percentages in your daily life! I am happy to help you via Zoom/Teams or travel if you are local to me (near Preston area). Sessions are typically 50 minutes to an hour. I'm also happy to adjust session time to suit you and take regular breaks as I know some people may struggle to focus for the whole session.

Sami is an experienced mathematician (they have a first in BSc Maths and a distinction in a Health Data Science MSc). Sami explains things clearly, encourages analytical thinking, and can supplement learning with applied examples of maths in the real world. They are a patient, kind, and inclusive person, with an understanding that people learn in different ways and may require tailored approaches. Although I know Sami personally and they have not tutored me, I am confident that they would make an excellent tutor.
