About Alexander
Hi! I am Alex, a physics graduate and masters student tutoring maths and physics at GCSE and A-level! I have been learning physics for many years and have previously tutored the children of family friends (including students with autism) to help them pass their GCSEs. I take professionalism very seriously, and think that the most important thing a tutor can do is be calming presence to build up a students confidence in the subject.

I have loved maths and physics for many years, and have tutored both my own siblings and the children of family friends through their GCSEs. I know that maths can be very intimidating for pupils, and it is my belief that many students are held back by their fear. When a student fails to understand a lesson it can be very disheartening for them, especially if the teacher is too busy to give them any help, and it only takes a few lessons in a row of this for them to start doubting their abilities completely. My tutoring process is to focus on the areas the student is most afraid of and build up confidence in those areas primarily, helping them improve their confidence in the subject piece by piece.
My lessons would be an hour to an hour and a half long at most, as I believe learning is best done in short bursts, and I am flexible about times, though evenings are best. I typically do one session a week, although in stressful revision times this could increase.
