About Jessica
I am a 21 year old oboist currently studying a Master of Performance at the Royal College of Music with a scholarship. I graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music in 2021, with a Bachelor of Music First Class Honours degree.
I myself am taught by the principal players of the prestigious London Symphony Orchestra and have had extensive solo, orchestral and chamber experience, winning both prizes and scholarships.
Having benefitted from attending several youth orchestras as well as the Royal Academy of Music Primary and Junior departments, I am now enjoying working with the National Children's Orchestras and the English Schools' Orchestra as a support staff and mentor.
When not teaching or performing in lots of orchestral projects, I enjoy reading and baking in my spare time!

* I am offering music lessons in beginner, intermediate and advanced oboe as well as nurturing any interest in the Cor Anglais.
* I am an enthusiastic and supportive teacher and pride myself on being patient and making every lesson a pleasant and fun experience.
* My approachable manner and love of the instrument will encourage a genuine desire to learn which, when combined with purposeful practice, will result in good progress.
* I have undertaken modules in pedagogy, meaning I can help students with fun and achievable learning techniques which they can apply beyond individual lessons and into a wider learning environment.
* I believe it is important to form a good understanding of music theory alongside practical skills, even at beginner stage - good foundations are key to good improvement.
* I am able to teach progression through ABRSM grades if required, and am more than happy to teach any age or standard!
* Although I live in North London, I am mostly based in South Kensington during the week. I am happy to travel across London, offering lessons of 45 mins or 60 mins in your home. Depending on time and distance, travel expenses may be requested. Online lessons are also available.
* I hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate which can be sent upon request.
