About Mahnoor
I'm a current Biomedical Sciences student at King's College London with a passion for making a difference with tutoring. I know from my own experience how much difference the right kind of teaching can make. When I had tutoring in the past, I often found that the support didn’t match the way I learnt, which sometimes left me feeling less confident rather than more. It inspired me to teach differently, a way that really focuses on understanding each student’s needs and helping them feel supported and capable. I want my lessons to build confidence as well as knowledge, so students not only improve their grades but also feel motivated and proud of their progress.

My tutoring approach centres on delivering lessons that are clear, engaging, and customised to each student’s needs. I use a variety of effective methods, including active recall, scaffolded explanations, and exam-focused strategies, to help students build confidence and attain long-term success. A typical lesson lasts one hour and usually begins with a short recap activity to reinforce previous learning, followed by targeted teaching and guided practice, ending with exam-style questions to cement understanding. I incorporate visual explanations, worked examples, and regular questioning to assess comprehension while adjusting the pace to suit each individual. My lessons are tailored for GCSE students from Year 7 to Year 11, and I ensure that whether a student requires extra support or is aiming appropriately, they are supported to reach their full potential.
