About Safiya
I am a dedicated and experienced math tutor, passionate about helping students in grades 4-10 build confidence and excel in their studies. I try to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students can develop a genuine understanding of math and achieve their academic goals. Oh, and if you’re wondering "When will I ever use this in real life?" don’t worry, I’ve got some surprisingly fun answers (yes, even for algebra)!

My tutoring approach for grades 4-10 focuses on building strong conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills, and confidence in mathematics. I tailor lessons to each student’s needs, using step-by-step explanations, visual aids, and real-world examples to simplify complex topics. A typical online 60-minute session includes a recap, concept introduction, guided practice, and independent problem-solving. With experience tutoring students for school exams, NAPLAN, and selective tests, and a strong mathematical foundation from my Aerospace Engineering studies, I create a supportive learning environment for students of all abilities, helping them master key concepts and excel academically.
